"Now, Alum Rock is back on track! As a current trustee, I respectfully ask for your vote to help Alum Rock continue moving forward towards a brighter future."
I was born and raised in East San Jose and as a child of Vietnamese immigrants who settled in San Jose to find freedom and opportunity; I learned at a young age that education is important. I attended Goss, Lyndale, and Pala schools. These Alum Rock Schools instilled a love for learning and taught valuable skills, which helped me earn a Master’s degree in Education from Stanford University.
Today, I'm working at a California State University as a college counselor, as well as, actively serving the Alum Rock School District community.
When the Alum Rock School District was facing financial trouble, I was selected to its Bond Oversight Committee, where I asked tough questions that helped lead to meaningful reforms.
During the pandemic, after a trustee’s unexpected departure, I was appointed to the Alum Rock School Board and helped guide the district through difficult times. Together, my colleagues and I provided meals to families; re-opened schools safely, launched a Vietnamese Dual Immersion language program, and stabilized the district’s finances.
Now, Alum Rock is back on track! As a current trustee, I respectfully ask for your vote to help Alum Rock continue moving forward towards a brighter future.
